During the E3 2016 event, Nintendo had some nice games on display. They also have a few demos on their upcoming games.
One demo that definitely stood out for me was the upcoming Legend of Zelda game called the “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”.
If I were to describe this game with one word, I would say “modern”. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a modern take on the Legend of Zelda games of old.
First of all, the lock-in combat system is back. This combat system allows Link to target one enemy at a time, making you focus your shots on a particular enemy for a quick kill. This might be boring for some but it has been refined in a way that will entice the modern gamer.
It has been refined in a way that it is now much faster and you have to really time your dodges well in order to evade the enemy’s attack.
Another new feature that was introduced in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is that all of Link’s weapons and equipment now has an attack and defense rating.
What this means is that Link’s equipment now has a numerical value and whenever you pick up or buy a new weapon, you will instantly see if the new weapon is better in terms of damage or not. The same goes for armor.
I think that it is a really nice addition considering that the game will be lengthy and there are many weapons and armors that Link can acquire throughout the course of his journey.
During the time that people were able to play the demo version of the game, one gamer asked the Nintendo Representative if the demo version of the game is just a small portion of Hyrule.
The Nintendo rep said yes, it is only a fraction of the game, but not all players will be able to explore the entire area as it is very vast.
If what he says is true, then the original game will get you glued to your seats for hours of playing this game.
The big bad of the game is Ganon. He was actually introduced in previous installments but now, he is going to conquer Hyrule for good. Well, we know that he won’t succeed because of Link, right?
Lastly, I want to touch on the graphics. The graphics of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is nothing short of superb.
I was amazed the first time I saw it and I was amazed even in the closing moments of the event.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released for the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo NX game consoles and it is slated to be released to the public along with the Nintendo NX.
I think that if you are a fan or not, you will truly love this new Legend of Zelda game. It is fun; it is visually appealing, and the interface is just absolutely gorgeous.
